I’m getting into the Halloween spirit early with this fun batty card I created with various Whimsy Stamps products.

I started off by using the Wavy Nested Frames dies to cut a window in two pieces of cardstock. Then I stencilled the top one with the Brick Pattern stencil and some distress ink. I can’t remember for sure what colour I used but I think it was Gathered Twigs. I did just some plain ink blending with the brown ink for the smaller window. I used the stencil again to ink blend on the background panel that will go behind the windows.

I glued the two window panels on top of the background so they created the effect of a hole in a brick wall. To add a little bit of sparkle I sprayed the whole thing with Antique Gold Metallic Ink spray from Altenew. I also added some white splatter because I was in a splattering mood!

Next I stamped two of the bat images from the Cutie Batootie stamp set with alcohol marker friendly ink and coloured them using my Ohuhu markers. I wanted to make them look cute and fuzzy so I did a lot of flicking and thin strokes with my markers to create the fuzzy effect. I listed out the markers I used so you can use them for reference if you also use Ohuhu markers for your colouring. Even if you use a different brand of markers, you can compare the markers you have to my swatches to find similar shades and get a similar effect with any marker brand!

To finishes the card I adhered the sparkly brick hole background to an A2 cardbase and popped up the bats with some foam squares. The sentiment was heat embossed in white on a scrap of black cardstock and then added to the card front. As a finishing touch, I added a few Antique Gold Pearls.
