The Inspiration Station Challenge: May

The Inspiration Station Challenge is a monthly challenge for all types of crafty projects. It starts the first Monday of each month and runs to the end of the month. Each month there is a new image to use for inspiration and it is a perfect way to jump start you creativity!

You can find all the details and link up your projects to play along on the Inspiration Station Challenge Blog!

Cardmaking Process

I was inspired by the grass covered green background of the inspiration image and I decided to use coloured cardstock for the cardfront instead of my usual white. I used Avocado cardstock from Concord and 9th for my cardfront and splattered it lightly with white gouache.

Then I stamped and coloured one of the images from the Tea-riffic stamp set and coloured it in with my Ohuho alcohol markers. After fussy cutting out the image, I used a marker that closely matched the cardstock colour to go over all the white edges left from the fussy cutting. I found this much easier than cutting right to the line especially with the area inside the teapot handle.

I popped the teapot image up with some foam squares and then added the sentiment which I had heat embossed with white on a scrap of black cardstock. I added some white dots with a gel pen over the teapot image to match with the white splatter I had added to the cardfront.

For the inside of my card I kept it pretty simple. I stamped the same teapot image with Avocado ink so it matched the cardstock on the front of the card. Then I added a birthday sentiment to the inside and that was it!

I hope you have enjoyed reading about how I created this card and will consider sharing your projects with us at the Inspiration Station Challenge. I would love to see what you create!
