Hello everyone and welcome to the June instalment of the Inspiration Station Challenge. We have a fun inspiration image this month which is perfectly suited for inspiring you to add to your birthday card stash! I don’t know about you, but I always need more birthday cards!

Making the Card

For my project this month, I was inspired by the cake and the pink colours in the inspiration image. I stamped and coloured the cupcake from the My Favourite Cupcake stamp set by Streamside Studios. I used my Ohuhu alcohol markers for the colouring and once I was done I fussy cut the cupcake and the flowers out.

For the background, I dry embossed an A2 piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock with the What’s Your Sign stencil. This gives adds a nice amount of interest to the background without being distracting. I adhered the cupcake to the cardfront with some foam tape and popped the flowers on with thin foam squares.

To finish, I added a gold heat embossed sentiment from the Be Still stamp set by Honey Bee Stamps on top of the cupcake and sprinkled a few gold pearls on the card for embellishment.
