Happy New Year everyone!
I’m starting off the new year by sharing my project for the January Inspiration Station Challenge. This month’s inspiration image is a lovely mountain scene and I decided to really focus in on the mountains for my card by creating a mountain shaped card!
January Inspiration Station Challenge

The Inspiration Station Challenge is a monthly challenge for all types of crafty projects. It starts the first Monday of each month and runs to the end of the month. Each month there is a new image to use for inspiration and it is a perfect way to jump start you creativity!
Creating an easy shaped card
For this card I wanted the mountains to be part of the card itself so I used one of the Scene Building Mountain dies to cut the top of a side fold A2 cardbase. I had already die cut the light blue cardstock I wanted to use as my card front so I simply placed the die cut blue cardstock on top of my cardbase and nestled the die against it so I could cut the cardbase to match exactly.
I cut out a selection of blue and lilac cardstock with the Scene Building Mountain Dies and added some subtle shading with matching ink colours. Then I splattered them all with Starry Colors metallic paint to add a little bit of shine. I used the Champagne Gold shade. After the splatter dried I stamped the sentiment on the front most mountain layer and adhered the mountain layers together with thin foam tape for a little bit of dimension.

To finish off the card, I coloured and cut out a cute deer image from the Forest Critters Stopping by to say Hey and added him to the front of my card. The sentiment I used is also from this stamp set.
And that is it! Using dies to cut out a edge along your cardbase is a super simple way to add more interest to an A2 card. And since you started with an A2 cardbase, it will fit inside an A2 envelope!
That is all for me today, I hope you have a fantastic New Year! Let me know if you have any questions down in the comments!
